All that they really accomplish by trying to scare you is filling you with a lack of trust and loyalty towards them. Most large companies are full of drivers that have hit bridges, rolled JD Truck Training Centre, been late for deliveries, and on and on. Does this mean you won't ever get fired? Certainly not. I've been fired a few times by idiots I've never met on some committee making decisions based on little or no real facts or understanding about me or my situation.
Another topic that will help you find a great trucking job is the type of equipment you drive. Your truck is your tool and also your home. Some carriers replace equipment more often then others. When considering a job ask how often the fleet trucks are replaced. Newer trucks can be more fuel efficient, and have less wear and tear damage on them. There is nothing worse for a truck driver than being stuck in a small town waiting for a simple repair to be made.
I don't know anyone who can claim to be an expert on Truck driving schools or the best method to pay for your Truck driving school! The fact is most people have only gone to one trucking school and if for some reason they have gone to more than one I would stay clear of them!
Ride with the right gear - A helmet, eye protection, sturdy jacket, pants, boots, and gloves are your best defense against accident injury. It can happen to you.
First I like to point out the legal side. This is a BIG ONE. Being a truck driver is fun and you can make a lot, or a ton of money. So what do I mean legal? Because we both know that you need a CDL license truck driving school to drive... When I say legal we are looking at your MVR (Motor Vehicle Record). Why is this important? If you have 1 too many violations most trucking companies will not hire you. This is what the HR Truck Licence schools do not tell you.
The schools are like so many other things that we learn during our lives. They give you, hopefully a great foundation to make you a great driver. There really is a lot to learn about trucking and where to go and what the best route might be at any certain time of the year.
